My 2025 Travel Bucket List
By Kristen Oliveri
My 2025 Travel Bucket List Is in Full Swing
I love blending indulgent, spa-infused girls’ trips with meaningful multi-generational getaways that include my young kids and parents. With a few memorable escapes already behind us for the year, including a stay at the Four Seasons Nevis, a relaxing week in Hilton Head, and a fun girls’ trip to Mohegan Sun in Connecticut, I’m already dreaming about what’s next. Here’s what’s topping my aspirational list.
1. London & The Cotswold
We’re headed across the pond for a proper family adventure. It’ll be our first time exploring the picture-perfect Cotswolds, and I’m beyond excited to return to London, a city I adore, to reconnect with family and friends. We plan to stay at The Lygon Arms in Broadway, which is known for being particularly kid-friendly. Add a charming pub, a relaxing spa, and a short walk into town, and I was sold. As for London, it’s a city I could easily live in and have visited countless times for work. This time, with two kids in tow, we’ll be looking for a child-friendly hotel, likely in Mayfair or Chelsea, so we can see the sights, shop at Harrods, enjoy a proper afternoon tea, and catch up with loved ones.
2. Chatham, Cape Cod, Massachusetts
This charming seaside town is calling our name. Cape Cod summers are a classic, and Chatham’s quaint streets and beautiful beaches make it perfect for a family getaway. The kids can enjoy beach walks, spotting seals along the coast, and chasing sunsets at the Ocean Edge Resort & Golf Club beach bar. We’ll also squeeze in a meal at the Wequassett Resort & Golf Club. When it comes to lodging, we love the timeless elegance of Chatham Bars Inn or the more casual, family-friendly Pleasant Bay Village Resort, which has spacious condos with kitchenettes, ideal for traveling with a group.
3. Fire Island, New York
We’re planning a quick trip to Fire Island to introduce the whole crew to this beloved Long Island beach destination. While we live just a short drive away, and already enjoy beautiful beaches on the North Fork, I want my family to experience the true car-free seclusion of Fire Island. While most visitors rent homes, I have my sights set on the casual, family-friendly Fire Island Beach House in Ocean Bay Park, which features a pool and direct beach access that I know the family will love.
4. Lugana, Italy
I keep reading about the wines of the Lugana region, located on the southern shores of Lake Garda and I’m beyond intrigued. I’ve traveled extensively through Italy, but haven’t yet explored this particular gem. I’m eager to dive into the native grape varietal, Turbiana (also known as Verdicchio), which produces white wines that are fresh, floral, and citrusy, with the ability to age beautifully.
5. The Maldives
The grand finale of my bucket list: the Maldives. It’s the dreamiest destination of them all. I’ve been longing to go for years, and I have the Six Senses Kanuhura and Six Senses Laamu properties in my sights. Both offer luxurious spa experiences, exquisite dining, and eco-conscious adventures like diving, snorkeling, and other unforgettable activities that make going halfway around the world completely worth it.
