<image:title>Content - Jessica Li on Alignment, Leadership and Living Well - Q: You’ve built a career at the intersection of ambition and wellbeing. What personal experiences first led you to this path of executive coaching?</image:title>
<image:caption>A: Ever since grade school, I was the person parents, peers, and teachers went to for advice — on academics, focus, balance, and relationships. People would say, “You should do this for a living,” and I’d think, what is this, a hotline? In high school, I saw a Tony Robbins video and it was like lightning struck. I knew this was who I was meant to be and how I could add value to the world. That desire to help people live their best lives followed me through NYU Stern and into my career in finance. I started coaching quietly behind the scenes, growing through referrals.</image:caption>

<image:title>Content - Investing with Intention: Peter Krull on Values, Impact, and the Future of Sustainable Living - Q: Your new book,The Sustainable Investor, distills decades of experience into an accessible framework. What inspired you to finally put these stories, lessons, and philosophies into a book? Was there a specific moment that made you say, “It’s time”?</image:title>
<image:caption>A: Sustainable investing, and especially ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) risk mitigation techniques, have become overwhelmingly politicized over the past several years. Legacy industries, such as coal and other fossil fuels launched active disinformation campaigns against ESG. They were concerned that their stock was being excluded from portfolios because of the high environmental material risks that the company’s operations pose. They passed their concerns onto sympathetic politicians who then amplified the disinformation using phrases like “woke investing” to undermine the progress that our industry has made. I wanted to, as a thought leader and a 20+ year veteran of the sustainable investing industry, set the record straight. We cannot cede the pulpit to those who are choosing to spread disinformation without an equally strong voice to counter the rhetoric.</image:caption>

<image:title>Content - Nishitha Kambhaladinne on breaking barriers and building wealth through property - Q: You grew up around real estate. What made you decide to follow in your family’s footsteps and make it your own career?</image:title>
<image:caption>A: I actually never planned to go into real estate. Growing up, I saw my family work in the business, but I thought I was too introverted for such a people-driven space, especially in residential real estate, where decisions tend to be emotional. My path started in data science and corporate sales. I loved solving complex problems with data, and I carried that mindset into real estate later on. During the pandemic, I earned my CCIM designation and discovered commercial real estate’s incredible potential to build wealth. That’s when I realized there was a major gap in access and education, particularly for younger investors and women. That realization shaped my mission: to democratize commercial real estate. I want to be a resource and bridge for people eager to participate in CRE but unsure where to begin. With my analytical background and direct access to seasoned operators, I can evaluate opportunities from both the data and execution sides. That combination, strategic insight paired with real-world experience, is where real value is created.</image:caption>

<image:title>Content - Pressing pause: Why stepping away is the new measure of wealth - Q: What first led you to explore the idea of “the power of the pause”? Was there a personal or professional moment that made you realize how essential slowing down can be?</image:title>
<image:caption>A: I learned the hard way – a health crisis around 15 years ago that had me questioning all the expectations of how my life might pan out. At the time, I had five operating businesses, a handful of non-profit director and committee roles, and some other life stressors. In hindsight, it’s no surprise. For a period, I was forced to slow down to a fraction of my regular work pace. My body was probably telling me for months that I was pushing too hard, but I wasn’t listening – at the time I didn’t know how to listen. My proclivity to readily take on new projects came at a huge cost. That period in my life was quite dark, and had me reflecting deeply and reworking how my life might look. I developed a model in my head – based on a 2x2 matrix of purpose vs time – and used that to categorise the different things I was doing now, and what I wanted to be doing in the future. That brought home to me that my most important choice was how I allocated time.</image:caption>

<image:title>Content - From strategy to execution: Tommy Mayes on what makes family offices work - Q: You’ve said that many family offices are built like professional service firms, not businesses. What do you mean by that, and how does it affect their ability to execute?</image:title>
<image:caption>A: Yes, this is a theme of mine in many respects. It is not an intuitive concept, but it makes sense right? Almost all wealth comes from a business or business investment, yet the principles do not often translate to the wealth creator’s family office. SFOs are often structured to serve rather than operate and are focused on responsiveness, not outcomes. This makes the team highly tactical and leaves little room for strategy. Without clear goals, accountability, or operational discipline, strategy becomes static. Treating the office like a business with leadership, priorities, and execution authority makes all the difference.</image:caption>

<image:title>Content - Fashion sense from the ultra-wealthy: What understated luxury really looks like - At galas, industry events, or even casual coffee meetings in major cities, I quietly observed what the most stylish among them were actually wearing. Around that time, the trendy term “stealth wealth” began circulating, but what I was seeing wasn’t a trend. It was a lifestyle philosophy.</image:title>
<image:caption>What became clear was this: while a discreet label might appear here or there, the look was never about logos. It was about style. Fit. Effortless elegance. Nothing flashy. Nothing performative. Just confidence paired with great tailoring. Years ago, a colleague and devoted fashion lover gave me a piece of advice that changed everything. Over drinks one evening, I asked her the question I had always wanted to: How do you always look so put-together? Are you constantly buying designer? She laughed and confessed her secret: “You only need one or two high-end signature pieces. Everything else can be basic staples.”</image:caption>

<image:title>Content - At the heart of Italian luxury: The Altagamma Foundation and the art of craftsmanship - A collective of excellence</image:title>
<image:caption>Founded in 1992, the Altagamma Foundation unites Italy’s most prestigious brands across sectors — fashion, design, food and wine, jewelry, yachting, hospitality, and automotive — under a shared mission: to protect and promote the country’s creative and cultural industries. With over 120 brands represented, from Ferragamo and Max Mara to Bulgari, Altagamma stands as a collective voice for the artistry, innovation, and spirit that define Italian luxury. Their vision is both economic and philosophical. Together, Altagamma brands contribute €144 billion annually, representing 7.4% of Italy’s GDP. Yet beyond numbers, the foundation’s mission centers on something more profound, ensuring that beauty, culture, and craftsmanship continue to shape the soul of Italy’s economy and its global influence.</image:caption>

<image:title>Content - At the heart of Italian luxury: The Altagamma Foundation and the art of craftsmanship - Sustainability and the ethics of beauty</image:title>
<image:caption>Altagamma also champions the idea that luxury must unite aesthetics and ethics. Italian brands, Lunelli emphasized, are excelling not only in what they create but in how they create it, in the way they treat the environment, their people, and the communities they operate in. This belief, that beauty and responsibility are inseparable, defines a new kind of luxury consciousness: one where refinement and responsibility coexist. Despite global uncertainty, the very high end of the luxury market continues to grow, particularly in experiential luxury. Post-pandemic, travelers and collectors alike are investing less in volume and more in meaning. As Lunelli put it in reference to fine wine: “We may drink less, but we’re drinking better.”</image:caption>

<image:title>Content - Ellevest’s Emily Green on motherhood, money, and the modern wealth mindset - Q: As both a wealth leader and a young mother, how has motherhood influenced the way you think about investing, legacy, and financial independence?</image:title>
<image:caption>A: Motherhood completely changed the way I thought about legacy. Ten years ago, I would have told you that wealth management was focused solely on growing your wealth, period. But today I understand that it is about the tools that allow you to create the life you want to live. This could look like not taking the highest paying job, but taking the job that allows you to achieve your financial goals, while getting to experience life with your family. I often joke to our clients that, “you can’t take your wealth with you!” My grandfather was a doctor and ran a hospital, so he definitely had enough money. When he died, his kids didn’t inherit anything. Why? Because he lived his life to the fullest. He took all the grandkids on a ski trip every year, joined us on trips to Disney World when we were kids, and traveled almost every month until he got sick. He lived his life to the fullest. It wasn’t ever about a bank account to him. It was about a purpose.</image:caption>

<image:title>Content - Rooted in heritage: Dino Altomare’s journey through wine, family, and legacy - Q: Dino, I’ve known you personally for a long time, but one moment that has always stayed with me is the first time we met: you wheeled in a bag filled with delicious cheeses and several wines to pair with them. From that moment, I knew we’d be friends for life. For readers who haven’t had the pleasure of knowing you personally, can you share your journey into the world of wine? How did you fall in love with it?</image:title>
<image:caption>A: I don’t think my path into wine was ever a conscious decision — like so many in this industry, it felt more like the natural course of my life. Ironically, I’m writing this on a train from Rome to Grosseto, heading back to Montalcino after seeing my family off. The scenery outside the window feels like a metaphor for my journey: it’s the landscape that defined my youth. I was fortunate to spend summers in Italy at our family home in Assisi, though as a child I couldn’t fully appreciate how special that was.</image:caption>

<image:title>Content - Rooted in heritage: Dino Altomare’s journey through wine, family, and legacy - Q: Today, you serve as Director of Education at Banfi Vinters, a respected, multi-generational Italian family business. What have you learned from the family about building a business that can thrive for generations?</image:title>
<image:caption>A: That’s such a great question - there are countless lessons I’ve learned from the Mariani family, but a few stand out for me. I’ve been lucky enough to work with the Mariani family through not only tremendous changes in the W&S industry, but also an evolution of Banfi over the years. First and foremost is authenticity. It’s a word that gets overused, but in its truest sense it means honesty and integrity. The Marianis have always been clear about who they are, their vision, and recognizing their strengths but also opportunities for growth — and they communicate that openly with colleagues and the industry, even when it’s not the easiest path.</image:caption>

<image:title>Content - Melissa Dusenberry on sustainability, cultural heritage, and the future of jewelry - Q: What was the inspiration or “spark” behind creating a business rooted in jewelry, cultural history, and social impact?</image:title>
<image:caption>A: The spark has always been curiosity. When I first discovered the jewelry industry more than a decade ago, it felt intimidating to ask questions like: Why is one gemstone more valuable than another? Where does a gemstone come from, who mined it, and under what conditions? As someone with a lifelong obsession with art and archaeology, it was a revelation that so much of what we know about our ancient ancestors comes to us through jewelry. Jewelry has always been an expression of what was most meaningful and valuable to ancient cultures. From gemstones to design iconography, their jewelry reveals cultural identities, belief systems, and, in many cases, just how global we have always been. All The Brilliants creates space for curiosity and transparency in a way that feels accessible and joyful.</image:caption>

<image:title>Content - Sabrage and style: The champagne experience at Tasting House - Q: Tasting House now boasts one of the most extensive selections of Brut Nature Champagnes in the country. Tell us about what Brut Nature means and how its flavor profile differs from other styles of Champagne.</image:title>
<image:caption>A: (RD) Brut Nature is technically a Champagne with little to no dosage, so there is no or very little added sugar at the end of the production process. This results in a very focused, linear style of Champagne. The focus is on the individuality and originality of the fruit, rather than mass appeal. For someone that is new to Champagne, this can provide them with a better understanding of where Champagne began, in addition to exposing them to styles they likely haven't seen before. Those with more educated and discerning palates can actually begin to pick out and appreciate the individual aspects of the fruit, winemaking style, and soil type, without any extra “noise.”</image:caption>

<image:title>Content - From prevention to performance: CourMed’s personalized approach - Q: What first inspired you to step into the health and wellness space, and how has your personal journey shaped the vision behind CourMed?</image:title>
<image:caption>A: My decision to step away from the traditional healthcare environment and into the health and wellness space was a profound personal and professional shift. For years, I was a hospital executive, fully immersed in the system of "sick care"—a system built to treat illness after it occurred. The turning point was realizing that even with all the resources of a major health system, we were fundamentally reactive. This reality hit especially close to home: my own experience of contracting pneumonia twice while in the hospital environment was a powerful, firsthand confirmation that the focus needed to change. I was working inside the system, yet it failed to protect my own health. This deeply personal struggle reinforced my belief that the industry needed to prioritize keeping people healthy and out of the hospital in the first place.</image:caption>

<image:title>Content - Living well, living responsibly: The NewTree Ranch experience - The Intersection of luxury and sustainability</image:title>
<image:caption>Edward Newell, founder of NewTree Ranch, sees no divide between indulgence and responsibility. “At NewTree Ranch, I see sustainable luxury as creating something beautiful and memorable for our guests while also nurturing the land that makes it all possible. We’re always looking at how we can do things that not only elevate the experience but also give back to the place that hosts us,” says Newell. The estate operates on 90% solar power, grows more than 200 varieties of organic fruits and vegetables in its biodynamic garden, and has more than 30 sustainability practices in place — from bee repopulation and soil enrichment to redwood reforestation. Guests are invited to take part in this regenerative way of living, sometimes in the simplest ways: picking vegetables for dinner, walking forest trails, or breathing in the vibrancy of toxin-free air. “When guests arrive, they can feel it,” Newell reflects. “The energy of the gardens, the vibrancy of the soil, and the way everything tastes just a little more alive because it’s grown right here with care. Guests often tell me their kids and their dogs seem lighter, happier, sometimes the happiest they’ve ever seen them. That joy comes from being surrounded by a place that’s truly alive.”</image:caption>

<image:title>Content - Living well, living responsibly: The NewTree Ranch experience - A living system of care</image:title>
<image:caption>NewTree’s magic lies in the way every detail, from a cleared path to the way a table is set, it carries a sense of care. “Guests will tell me they noticed something as simple as how a space was prepared, and that it made them feel seen. Those quiet details are everywhere, and they create a feeling of care that runs through the whole experience,” Newell says. But it’s not just hospitality; it’s stewardship. He describes the practices of forest management, rewilding, solar energy, and biodynamic farming as a single living system that creates the abundance guests experience.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Flashbacks to almost two decades ago—young us, green with experience but grand with vision. In many ways, Redwoods has come full circle back to its original model: coaching and mentoring. We focus on the Human Experience of Wealth, viewing investment education as just one tool to support the bigger picture of how our resources can promote wholeness in all areas of our lives. This past year, we wrapped up a leadership program for youth that emphasized business acumen, career readiness, and financial literacy. It was truly inspiring to see their engagement grow throughout the program—from the kick-off conference to remote classes, and on-site job shadowing. <image:caption>LD: Travel, health, and wellness aren’t side interests for us. After years of working in fast-paced global environments and travelling extensively, we came to understand that sustaining high performance means prioritizing well-being, not sidelining it. We wanted to build a company where the “walk the talk” philosophy isn’t just a slogan but embedded in how we operate. From day one, we designed our firm to support a lifestyle that values clarity, energy, and purpose. That mindset shows up in everything from how we structure our workdays to how we advise growing businesses.</image:caption>

<image:title>Content - The year I turned 40 and became an entrepreneur - I’ve been dreaming about building my own brand for years, but something always held me back. And that something? People pleasing. I poured my energy into making others happy, doing great things for other people and companies, while rarely putting myself first. For the past few birthdays, I’ve done a little exercise: I write down a short list of lessons I’ve learned that year. Recently, those lists have been filled with themes like setting boundaries, saying “no” more often, protecting my time, and valuing my health above all else. Looking back, the trend line is obvious.</image:title>
<image:caption>Without even realizing it, I had been inching toward this very moment, tuning out the noise, putting myself first, trusting my abilities, and letting go of what no longer served me. So yes, it makes perfect sense that this year, the year I turned 40, is the year I finally said YES to me. It feels freeing to say no, to scale back, to live with more intention. Sure, men have been doing this for centuries. But for me, and for my people pleasing personality, it took a long time to arrive at this place. I’ve often heard women I admire say that life begins at 40, that everything before was just a dress rehearsal. DAMN, that feels true.</image:caption>

<image:caption>I first entered the world of High Jewelry seven years ago when I joined Bulgari. My career initially started in watches, working with various luxury watch brands. When Bulgari approached me to join their team, I thought, “How incredible to work with watches, my passion, and jewelry at the same time!” It was a perfect convergence of my interests, and I’ve been passionate about it ever since. What drew you specifically to Bulgari? What about the brand's history, design philosophy, or culture speaks to you most? In the hierarchy of jewelry, High Jewelry represents the pinnacle of design, craftsmanship and quality, and Bulgari is among the top four brands in the world. What sets Bulgari apart, is its ability to combine simplicity with iconic design, while getting inspiration from the Roman city’s art, architecture, and monuments. The magical final sprinkle on top, is living ‘’La Dolce Vita’’ all along the way! Bulgari’s events are filled with joy and celebration, a way of life that truly appeals to me.</image:caption>

This can be around specific topics and themes, or more generally around building a community. I genuinely like doing it as I feel like it makes me smarter, and if I feel that way maybe other people do, too. Freedom hired me after coming to one of the events I produced for family offices, and the firm has really championed the conference series. I have great respect for the people who run conferences as a business, but with the backing of Freedom I don’t need to fill a conference with sponsor pitches, so I can really focus on making my events peer-to-peer. What do I mean by that? I mean that the majority of the speakers at my conferences are themselves single family office members and/or their representatives.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Co-authoring a book can be quite the adventure. How did you and Nick [Rice] decide to team up, and what was your creative process like? Happily, we've known each other for more than ten years and in a variety of capacities. I had been Nick's source at Fundfire/Ignites, he was my client at UBS and now he is part of the Financial Services practice at Brunswick group. I needed a journalist who knew wealth management and Nick immediately came to mind. We are a very good balance for each other as Nick is British, a bit more conversative, more investment heavy and communications/media experienced. Good yin/yang! The book dives deep into generational shifts and the changing face of wealth. How does your own entrepreneurial journey reflect the themes you explore in the book? I started my business in 2008 and a well-known industry expert told me at the time that I was too old to be an entrepreneur, banks would never hire outside firms, high-net-worth (HNW) people would never be "on" the internet and social media was a fad. Instead of quitting, I leaned into all of those "no's" and made each of those "yes's." Also, my own Gen z kids were a huge inspiration. When I started in family office, I was stunned by the dull, old, musty looking brands that dominated the industry. I knew wealth was getting a facelift!</image:caption>

<image:title>Content - A day in the life of an entrepreneur: Meet Tessa Adams - What does a typical morning look like for you, and how do you set the tone for the day ahead? I’ve always liked to start my day early and now I do it whether I want to or not. I’m up generally by 5:45/6am and headed to a Soul Cycle or Pilates class. I have to start my day with some sort of a workout, even if it’s just a walk around the neighborhood. That’s my time to get centered for the day ahead and get my brain moving. Follow that with an injection of caffeine from my favorite local coffee spot (Go Get Em Tiger) and I’m off to the races. I also try not to schedule meetings before 9am, but of course that can be a challenge dealing with so many time zones, but if I can preserve the mornings for me time, I certainly try to.</image:title>

<image:title>Content - Ferragamo family expands into Brunello with Pinino acquisition</image:title>
<image:caption>I had the privilege of attending an intimate wine tasting in New York City with Salvatore Ferragamo, where he spoke candidly about the family’s vision. “This is an act of passion to grow the portfolio with a Brunello,” he shared, glass in hand, with the calm confidence of someone honoring his heritage while forging a bold new path. Founded in Valdarno di Sopra, Il Borro released its first wine in 2001, a Bordeaux blend Super Tuscan, and now cultivates 210 acres producing 12 distinct wines. The Pinino acquisition is more than an expansion, it’s a deepening of commitment to excellence. The family will retain renowned enologist Stefano Chioccioli as consulting winemaker, ensuring continuity and quality. As the Ferragamos continue to evolve their storied brand, their foray into Brunello not only enhances their prestige but reinforces their role as stewards of Italian craftsmanship, both in the vineyard and beyond.</image:caption>

<image:caption>You now run the business with your husband. What has the experience been like co-leading a business with your spouse? Running StoryKeep with Piet has been a journey of transformation — both professionally and personally. Initially, I was the sole founder, the face, and the decision-maker. When Piet joined, we had to navigate the complexities of shifting from a founder-led to a couple-led business. This transition wasn't just structural; it was deeply emotional. I had to relinquish control, and Piet had to find his place in a company that already had a history. We faced challenges, but through open communication and mutual respect, we found our rhythm. Our individual strengths complement each other: my drive and instinct for people, and Piet's grounded wisdom and storytelling prowess. Together, we've built a global team of creatives who share our mission. Our partnership has deepened our understanding of the families we serve, as we've lived through the complexities of merging love, legacy, and leadership.</image:caption>
