The Wealth Reimagined Travel Guide: St. Kitts & Nevis
By Kristen Oliveri
A family trip to St. Kitts & Nevis offers a rare combination of relaxed Caribbean energy and elevated hospitality. The islands are easy to navigate, beautifully preserved, and full of moments that make you slow down, whether it’s a beachside lunch, a wellness class or spotting monkeys wandering across the golf course at sunset. Here are a few of our favorite places to stay, dine, and explore.
Where to Stay on St. Kitts
Park Hyatt St. Kitts
The Park Hyatt sits on the quieter side of the island with sweeping ocean views and a layout that makes it feel both spacious and intimate.
Why we love it:
• Beautiful pools that work for both families and adults looking for a quieter corner
• An excellent kids club with indoor and outdoor play areas
• Multiple dining options on property, making it easy to stay put when you want to fully unplug
• Walkable access to a few nearby local restaurants
• A stunning spa with outdoor treatment spaces
Pro tip: Book a facial at the spa. It’s one of the most relaxing ways to spend an afternoon on property.
Best meal: The hotel’s fine dining concept, which blends sushi with high-end steakhouse classics. It’s the perfect “date night” option if you’re traveling with kids and taking advantage of the kids club.
What to Do Off Property (St. Kitts)
If you’re looking to explore a bit beyond the resort, grab a taxi and head to Port Zante in Basseterre. It’s a lively port area with easy shopping for jewelry, local goods, kids items, and travel necessities.
Pro move: Stop for a casual lunch in the international food court before heading back to the resort.
Where to Stay on Nevis
Four Seasons Resort Nevis
This was our third year in a row visiting the Four Seasons Nevis, and we continue to fall more in love with it every time. Many seasoned travelers say it quietly remains one of the best-kept secrets in the Four Seasons collection, and it’s easy to see why. The property has a relaxed elegance, incredible natural beauty, and an atmosphere that feels welcoming rather than overly formal.
What We Love On Property
The kids club is one of the best we’ve experienced. Activities range from:
• Movie nights (a gift for parents who want a night out)
• Monkey spotting adventures
• Arts and crafts sessions
• Outdoor games and exploration
Wellness & Activities
For adults who like to stay active while traveling, the resort offers a wide range of options:
• Pilates and yoga classes
• Tennis clinics
• Golf and beach walks
• Fitness programming throughout the week
Lunch Favorite
A must-try is the sushi at Kastawey Beach Club. You can sit down for a full meal or grab sushi rolls to enjoy beachside during the day.
Spa Experiences
The spa offers a unique touch for families: services designed for kids, including mini manicures, pedicures, and abbreviated massages or facials. It’s a fun treat for younger travelers who want their own “spa day.”
Where to Eat in Nevis (Off Property)
Sunshine’s Beach Bar & Grill
No visit to Nevis is complete without a meal at Sunshine’s. The atmosphere is casual, lively, and quintessentially Caribbean. Perfect for lunch or dinner after a day on the beach.
Drift Restaurant & Beach Bar
Drift was one of our favorite discoveries. The setting is effortlessly cool, a low-key beach bar atmosphere paired with surprisingly sophisticated Caribbean dishes. Come for dinner and stay for the sunset. It was one of the most beautiful we saw on the island.
One Last Thing: Look for the Monkeys
One of Nevis’ most charming surprises is the island’s green vervet monkeys. You’ll often spot them wandering across golf courses, along the road, or even near the resort grounds. For kids and adults alike, it becomes a bit of a game, who will spot the first monkey of the day? If you’re looking for a Caribbean escape that blends family travel, wellness, and understated luxury, St. Kitts & Nevis delivers in a way that still feels wonderful.
